Too often in life we don’t take the time or the opportunity to be proud … to stop … to savour … to celebrate …
In March 2020, I published my first book titled Our Life Well Lived: A Compilation. It’s available for purchase on amazon.ca.
This is kind of a big deal … like the front page of the local paper kind of big deal … but I keep catching myself trying to make it small …
Why do we do that?
We convince ourselves that ANYONE can do what we did (but that’s NOT true … we’re all gifted in different ways) … we minimize our efforts … we minimize the time and the energy we invested … and we question our creation’s worth …
We’re convinced that what we’ve done is nothing really … and we minimize the toil that went into creating something … in my case, it’s a book (that was actually created in bits and pieces over the last seven years, then just smushed together) … but maybe for you, it’s the building of a farm … or growing a massive garden … or raising a couple of kids … maybe it’s building a new house … or starting a catering business from the ground up … maybe it’s a move across the country to build a new life … or surviving a major renovation … maybe your creation is big … or maybe it’s small …
But I really think no matter the size, it’s really worth celebrating …

It’s perfectly OKAY to celebrate …
Today, I’m celebrating having a few copies of MY book on the bookshelf and the words of a few special friends about its worth in my heart, including my oldest daughter’s … “Wow! My mom is a real life author with her very own book.”
I have a few special someones who I’ll keep some for … namely, Mackenzie, Madilyn, and Cambri … and a few to give away …
I haven’t sold many copies yet, and I highly doubt I will, but that’s not WHY I wrote the book in the first place … I wrote it for me … I wrote it for my daughters … and I wrote it for YOU … I hope you see yourself there … at least once in awhile …
And that’s noble … and WORTH celebrating!
I truly hope my daughters create SOMETHING as I have that they’re really, really proud of, so we can CELEBRATE!
