I Love Doing Life With You

I love doing life with you … 

The words popped into my head a couple of days ago … a “regular” Saturday (whatever that means) … a day to catch up on a few extra household chores and some yard work … a day with no work or school commitments … a slower start for the kids and some early morning free time for me … a regular day at home … with warm weather for company … 

With my husband away for the day at the farm, it was just the kids and I … that happens quite a bit actually … just the kids and I … 

Over the years, I’ve gotten better and better at accepting it … though there are moments when it gets the best of me … like when I desperately need a break … or when one of the kids tells me that they miss Daddy for the 987th time that day … I wish I could fix that for them, but I just can’t … it’s OUT of my CIRCLE OF CONTROL (more to come on this important topic) … 

Instead, I’m aiming at acceptance and focusing on gratitude instead … which is where I LOVE DOING LIFE WITH YOU stems from …

watching and listening to you play, learn, and grow

seeing you discover and study and wonder

eating snacks with you

going for walks and bike rides with you 

dance parties

singing

building LEGO with you

witnessing your creations

giggles

braiding and combing your hair

swinging with you

laughing together

gardening

even laundry … with you 

tickle fights

chats

road trips with you … short and long

reading and listening to books with you

then watching the movie 

doing crafts with you

going to parks with you

and beaches

playing with the kittens

cuddles with you

and hugs

adventures with you … big and small

And the more I thought about it, the more I thought … I NEED to share this … with YOU … with the world …
